Betano Review

Betano is a premium Ontario casino with more than 2,500 games on deck, and they double as a popular sportsbook. They entered the North American market in November 2022, but they made their original debut back in 2017. Over the past two years Betano has become popular with a slew of exclusive games, their best-in-class welcome package, and plenty of tournaments to go around. 

I wanted to see if Betano is one of the better options available for Canadian players, so I made a new account and got busy playing games with my own money. Let’s take a closer look at the pros and cons of playing at Betano.

There’s a lot to take in when you first log onto Betano. Their user interface is well-organized, so you shouldn’t have any trouble finding your way around, but it takes a while to get used to the sheer number of options and features . The top menu of categories brings you to their sportsbook collection, live betting markets, casino games, live casino games, and virtual sports betting options. After clicking on “Casino,” I saw a screen with all their best titles upfront. 

I used the leftmost sidebar to check Betano’s upcoming tournaments, my available rewards and my recommended games. Clicking “For You” pulls up a list of your favorited games (if any), your most played titles, and personalized game suggestions underneath the “Top Picks for You” row. 

Whether you’re playing on your computer or mobile, Betano passed our tests with flying colors.

I found it easy to get started with Betano. Completing their registration process took me just five minutes, and I want to use this section to explain what you’ll need to do before getting started at Betano. I clicked “Register” at the top of my screen and then clicked “Register With Your Email.”

I had to confirm my address and employment information in accordance with Ontario’s iGaming regulations. I also needed to disclose my personal details, all of which I’ve listed below:

• Residential Address 

• Current Province

• Mobile Number 

• Language (English, Portuguese, Spanish and more) 

After I filled out the required fields, I had to wait for one of Betano’s support agents to verify my address and occupation. This took approximately 24 hours, and I was then able to finish signing up. Before finalizing my account, I checked the box to agree with Betano’s Terms & Conditions.

Betano’s mobile app puts 30+ sports categories and 2,500+ games in your back pocket on iOS and Android devices. I downloaded their app on my iPhone, and I was pleasantly surprised by how easy it felt to use. With so many games and betting lines, I was expecting their mobile app to feel somewhat cramped and overwhelming. Thankfully, it’s quite similar to their desktop site. 

You’ll see all their current recommendations in the top banner, and a handy search bar lies underneath. Right above the search bar I was able to access my recommended games, all their tournaments and an expanding list of their game categories. The only discrepancy between their site and app is the bottom menu row, which features a “casino chip” you can tap to switch over to the casino. 

I’m happy to report that Betano offers the same number of games and sports betting categories on desktop and mobile. Their website and casino app performed equally well during my testing period.

Ontario players aren’t exactly stuck for casino choices these days. I tend to favor casinos that bring something new to the table, and Betano is a perfect example. I haven’t found any other reputable ON casinos with great odds for 30 popular sports categories. That’s not to mention 2,500+ games from 16 software providers on top of countless exclusives. 

Play their Game of the Week, try out live games, and get extra spins every Tuesday. The only critique I have is their lack of a VIP program. It would be nice to receive loyalties and special benefits based on how much you play, but overall the promos are excellent.

Betano accepts numerous secure payment methods, and I’m explaining who each option is best suited for down below. From bank cards to e-wallets, you won’t have any issue making deposits.

• Bank Cards: If you’ve ever made a purchase on the internet, Betano’s deposit process will look very familiar. All you have to do is enter your card number, CVC code, full name, and address before clicking “Deposit.” Bank card deposits are made available instantly. 

• Interac e-Transfer: Interac is a payment service that links to your primary financial institution. I was able to select my bank from the payment screen, log in with my existing credentials, make deposits and claim withdrawals. Interac e-Transfer payouts take 24 hours to clear. 

• Apple Pay: Apple Pay is a mobile e-wallet service that’s exclusively available when you download the Betano app on your iOS device. If you already use Apple Pay for everyday transactions, you know how it works – authenticate deposits with your face or fingerprint. 

• Google Pay: Google Pay is another mobile-only e-wallet you can use to make deposits at Betano. If you have an Android phone, download the app on Google Play to use GPay seamlessly. Like Apple Pay, you can make deposits with a digital copy of your bank card. Verified by your face ID or fingerprint scan. 

PayPal: Not many Ontario casinos accept PayPal transactions, so I have to give Betano credit where it’s due. They process instant PayPal deposits and same-day withdrawals. I simply had to log into my account and confirm transactions as I’d normally do on PayPal.

I tested Betano’s banking processes for myself, and I’m documenting my personal experiences making deposits and withdrawals in this section. I didn’t notice options for Apple Pay and GPay until I downloaded their mobile app on my iPhone, but I used PayPal to make my initial deposit because I started off using Betano on my laptop. I clicked on “Deposit” at the top of my screen. 

From here, I chose “PayPal” from the subsequent list of deposit methods. I then logged into my PayPal account using my associated email and password. I was asked how much I’d like to put down as an initial deposit, and I parted with $100 so I could qualify for their entire welcome package. I received my benefits, extra spins, and original deposit amount immediately.

It didn’t take me long to make $10 profit playing 9 Masks of Fire Hyperspins. I clicked “Deposit” to begin the withdrawal process. This sounds counterintuitive, but I had to open the left sidebar on the Deposit section and click “Withdrawal” to get started. 

I saw that I could request a withdrawal using Apple Pay, Interac e-Transfer, PayPal, eCashout, or my credit/debit card. Again I chose to go through PayPal due to its inherent simplicity. 

I logged into my PayPal account, confirmed my $10 withdrawal, and saw my casino winnings reach my PayPal balance just 15 minutes later.

I spent seven days getting acquainted with Betano’s user interface and important procedures. I want to speak about what you can expect as a first-time user on the platform, so I wrote this walkthrough that covers desktop and mobile gaming. At a glance, their main screen is very saturated with boatloads of games, sports, and other miscellaneous announcements. 

You can see exactly how long you’ve been logged in at the top of your screen, which presents a running timer. Directly underneath this, you see the “Deposit” button and your available balance. To the left of your casino balance, there’s a miniature gift box. 

As for their Responsible Gaming tools, I had to open my account settings and click on “Player Protection.” I was able to set a session timer, casino loss limits and deposit limits with one tap. You can also Take A Break for periods of 24 hours, 7 days, a month, 2 months, and 3 months. 

Lastly, you can self-exclude by clicking a checkbox with no outside support or approval required.

I downloaded the Betano application using the App Store on my iPhone 13, and it was (mostly) smooth sailing. Their UI has a lot to absorb at once, but it’s not hard to get the hang of things. 

While you’re mostly using the top menu to navigate through Betano’s user interface on desktop, their mobile app relocates your most important settings at the bottom of the screen. I was easily able to access their live markets, sports categories, and my betslip. Clicking the “casino chip” at the bottom-right corner of the screen redirects you from their sportsbook to their casino section. 

If you want to go back to their sportsbook, click the soccer ball at the bottom-left corner of your screen. You’ll see an expanding list of game categories at the top of the screen. You’re able to switch between traditional casino games and live dealer games using the bottom menu icons. 

To access your account settings, click on your available balance and click “My Account.” You’ll see a headphone icon to the left. This brings you to their informative Help Center, where I was able to find their customer support options. They offer comprehensive assistance through live chat and email ([email protected]), but I didn’t see a phone number listed anywhere. To the right, you’ll notice an envelope icon that shows your recent notifications and announcements.

No, I didn’t have any problems when I was using Betano. Their interface can be a lot to take in, but intuitive filters make quick work of sorting their games by software provider, categories and more. They could afford to implement a phone hotline, but their chat and email support agents are on the ball as-is. I would like to see them change the wording of their T&C’s to accurately convey 30x wagering requirements rather than a 15x playthrough on your deposit and benefits.
