Royal Panda Review

Having initially launched across the rest of Canada in 2000, Royal Panda is one of the older online casinos in North America. 22 years later, they opened an Ontario-friendly version of their website. Although they claim to be one of the most reputable casinos in Canada, I had to see if they could put their money where their mouth is. I created a new account and got down to business for seven days for this Royal Panda review. 

I tested a variety of games, deposited real money to my account, requested withdrawals after I won, and opted into individual benefits. In my unfiltered Royal Panda review, I’m summarizing my experience with the platform and outlining where I think they could stand to make changes. 

I’m also walking you through the process of signing up with Royal Panda, showing you how to make deposits, and explaining the steps I took to claim benefits and receive cash withdrawals. Let’s get the ball rolling with a synopsis of Royal Panda’s biggest selling points for new sign-ups.

I got lost in Royal Panda’s game collection during my week-long testing period. In the process, I discovered all their most compelling features. Here’s what you should know about Royal Panda:

Royal Panda doesn’t disappoint with a respectably sized game collection and two sign-up offers, but I wanted to see how this casino stacks up against Leo Vegas and 888casino. Royal Panda and Leo Vegas are sister sites, which simply means that they’re owned by the same company. 

Royal Panda doesn’t have nearly as many games or benefits as Leo Vegas, either. However, I saw that Royal Panda works with more than double the number of software companies as their sister site. Leo Vegas has 1,775+ slots and 340 live games from 18 providers, but Royal Panda works with 37 different companies to host 1,000+ slots and 221 live dealer options. 

Thankfully, I didn’t notice a variation in quality between the two casinos. 888casino dwarfs Royal Panda and competes neck-and-neck with Leo Vegas. They offer 2,000+ slots, table games, and live dealer options.  

Lastly, 888casino and Leo Vegas each have a downloadable app for iOS and Android devices. If you’re gaming on-the-go at Royal Panda, you’ll have to use their website. Even though their website ran smoothly on my iPhone 13, I was disappointed with Royal Panda’s lack of variety  compared to Leo Vegas.

I had a very average user experience at Royal Panda. I found it easy to navigate their UI, which is a big plus for beginners. However, they lack some of the more advanced search filters I’d like to see. There’s no way to sort through games by software provider, and you have to click on the arrow icons next to each subcategory to see matching games. 

I was able to switch between their casino and live casino using the left and right tabs at the top of my screen. You can also use the menu at the top-left corner of the screen to see casino and live casino games. Their sidebar has two icons that bring you to their promos and support team. 

While their interface benefits from simplicity and quick loading speeds, it feels too barebones in my opinion.

I’ve been reviewing Ontario casinos since the province legalized online gambling back in 2022, so I’ve had the chance to register with countless platforms over the past two years. That said, I think Royal Panda’s sign-up process is on the less complicated side. I was able to register with the site in one minute. I clicked Sign Up and entered my email before making a new password.

I was asked to provide the following information while registering with the site. If you don’t want to enter this information by hand, click “Continue With Google” on the sign-up page to expedite the process.

As every legitimate Ontario casino is required to do by law, Royal Panda had to verify my home address and employment details before I could make deposits or play games. 

There are two more steps you must take before finalizing your account creation. I had to agree to Royal Panda’s Terms & Conditions and confirm that I was at least 19 years old by ticking two checkboxes on the final registration screen. After I finished, I clicked “Sign Up” and got to work.

I wasn’t able to find a downloadable casino app for Royal Panda on the App Store or Google Play. I used Google Chrome to access their site on my iPhone 13, and I was happy to notice that I could use both Apple Pay and Google Pay to make deposits on mobile. 

Their website serves as an instant-play app. I enjoyed snappy navigation, quick loading speeds, and lag-free live games. 

Best of all, their mobile and desktop websites look much the same. This is a huge advantage for beginners who might otherwise have trouble getting used to the mobile version of their website. If you’re having trouble seeing the row of categories, turn your phone sideways to expand them.

We make it our mission to review casinos that stand out from the crowd in some way, shape or form. Royal Panda might pale in comparison to their sister site, but they’re still one of the better options for new players in Ontario. They offer hundreds of live dealer games, a $500 live casino benefits, VIP rooms for high rollers and seven-figure progressive jackpot games for big dreamers. 

Many of their best games are exclusive to the platform, and their personalized loyalty program is one of the best I’ve seen from any Ontario casino. I saw that I could claim special benefits, earn priority payouts, receive luxury gifts, participate in hush-hush slot tournaments, and have access to a VIP account manager as I climbed the ranks. 

Most platforms assign ekstra spins worth $0.10 each, so it’s nice to see Royal Panda following in Leo Vegas’ footsteps with a generous offer. After checking the benefit Terms, I found that none of your extra spin winnings are subjected to Royal Panda’s 35x wagering requirement. 

Should you get lucky enough to win real money on Gates of Olympus, it’s yours to withdraw.

Royal Panda is one of the only casinos I've seen in Ontario to accept both Apple Pay and Google Pay on iOS and Android in spite of not having a downloadable app. In this section, I’m going over all the deposit and withdrawal methods you can use at Royal Panda. 

• VISA/MasterCard: You can use your VISA and MasterCard to make instant deposits at Royal Panda. Just enter your card number, name, address, and CVV code as you would on Amazon or another online storefront. 

• Interac: Interac links to your bank account to facilitate immediate deposits and secure withdrawals. Select your financial institution from the menu, log into your account, and confirm the transaction. 

• Apple Pay: Apple Pay is an iOS-only e-wallet service that uses a copy of your bank card to initiate one-tap deposits. You can’t use Apple Pay to receive payouts at Royal Panda. 

• Google Pay: Google Pay is compatible with iOS and Android devices, and it works just like Apple Pay. Both e-wallets store your debit card information, adding another layer of security to your banking experience. 

• iDebit: iDebit and Interac both pair with your bank account, serving as a barrier between your financial institution and your casino balance. You can use either method to facilitate deposits and payouts by choosing your bank, logging in, and confirming the transaction. 

• NeoSurf: If you want to keep your bank details completely separate from Royal Panda, purchase a NeoSurf voucher and enter your unique redemption code to make deposits. 

• Bank Transfer: Royal Panda uses bank wire transfers for withdrawals exclusively. Just choose the amount you’d like to receive and enter in your routing and account numbers.

I deposited my own money and received a real withdrawal at Royal Panda. I’m explaining how you can follow in my footsteps. Their banking procedures are very simple, and beginners won’t have any trouble getting started. I used my VISA to deposit funds through the desktop website.

I opened the left sidebar, navigated to the Cashier, clicked “Deposit” and chose “Cards” from the list of available payment methods. I entered “$20” when asked how much I’d like to deposit, and I filled out my card details on the same screen. Once finished, I clicked “Deposit” again and saw money available for immediate use. I began my testing period with $40 from their 100% bonus.

After winning $20 on a lucky Hyper Strike spin, I decided to withdraw my funds. I opened up the Cashier once again, clicked on “Withdraw,” and chose “Interac” as my preferred payout method. I was asked to select my bank, log into my account, and confirm the payout by clicking “Submit.”

I saw my winnings three days later, which is better than the five days I spent waiting for a payout from Leo Vegas.

I spent a week playing games, opting into benefits, and testing the overall user experience at Royal Panda. I’ve put together a brief walkthrough that summarizes my discoveries at the site. As I’ve said more than once, Royal Panda doesn’t offer a way to search by theme or provider and the organization of the catalog could be improved in my opinion. 

They follow Leo Vegas’ approach of boosting their search engine visibility with a now-defunct blog section. To give them some credit here, their Help Centre is incredibly detailed. I was able to read through FAQ surrounding topics like payments, account verification, security and benefits. When I clicked on “Responsible Gaming,” I was brought to a screen explaining how to use their self-limiting tools. They share a responsible gaming website with Leo Vegas. 

At LeoSafePlay, you can do a self-assessment if you feel that it might be time to take a break. Their live chat staff is trained to connect players with professional organizations that can help. Royal Panda has links to ConnexOntario, Gamblers Anonymous, Net Nanny and BetBlocker. 

As its own entity, Royal Panda gives players a number of ways to take control of their gaming experience. I saw that I could set monthly deposit limits and loss limits, self-exclude, or take a break from the action by closing my account. 

While you can have one of their support agents do the honors via live chat or email, it’s easier to implement personalized limits by clicking the Responsible Gaming tab in your account settings. I love Royal Panda’s commitment to responsible gambling because they prioritize players’ safety. 

Beginners can get in touch with a 24/7 live chat representative by opening the “Support” button in the left sidebar. Here, you can view their Help Centre or launch a chat session. I received a reply from one of their agents 30 seconds after filling out their form and clicking “Start Chat.”

As mentioned, I couldn’t find a downloadable application for Royal Panda on the App Store or Google Play. Their website delivers the same functionality I’d expect from a downloadable app minus the additional software. From what I can see, all their casino games are mobile-friendly. 

They also accept Apple Pay and Google Pay through their mobile website, which is something I haven’t seen from many Ontario casinos that already have a proper app. I didn’t have any issue with freeze-ups as I played live games on-the-go, and their slots are equally exciting on desktop and mobile. I like that Royal Panda hasn’t changed their user interface too much on either front. 

If you’re looking for a capable mobile casino platform, Royal Vegas puts thousands of games in your front pocket with no download required.

I gave Royal Panda a top rating because they have boatloads of live games, seven-figure slot machines, and all the classics Ontario players know and love. They also stand out from peers with two separate signup offers. Rather than getting our details from other reviewers, we gather our information at the source, by actually signing up and playing games. I’ve explained the six benchmarks we use in our rating process.

Royal Panda is owned and operated by Tigergen Limited, which is the same company in charge of their sister site Leo Vegas. Tigergen Limited maintains a license from the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO). Their license number is OPIG1337313, and they list their entire company address using the site’s footer. They also work with ConnexOntario as required by law.

While my overall user experience at Royal Panda was positive, I’m calling out a few issues as I see them. Firstly, I’m addressing my comparative experience with Leo Vegas and Royal Panda. Both sites have a 7-day expiration period on their welcome perks, which should be lengthened. 

Unfortunately, Tigergen Limited put a lot more time and energy into developing Leo Vegas than Royal Panda. This is clearly evident by the lack of capitalization at the bottom of the page where all their documents are located. Royal Panda also lacks many of the best games at Leo Vegas in spite of working with nearly double the number of software providers. 

They don’t have a proper app like their sister site, which makes Royal Panda feel like a cut-rate version of Leo Vegas. They should also improve their search filters. I didn’t find a way to sort by theme or software provider, which made it difficult for me to play various titles during my testing. 

Lastly, it would be nice to see Royal Panda launch a daily benefit for slot and live casino players.

Personally, I find it hard to recommend signing up with Royal Panda when Leo Vegas tops them in every department imaginable. They offer larger perks, more frequent promotions, more titles, less hassle while searching for games, and a downloadable app on top of their sports betting library. 

I can see how Royal Panda might appeal to beginners because there isn’t as much clutter on their home page. The interface is simple, smooth and easy to navigate on desktop and mobile. But until Royal Panda separates their brand from Leo Vegas, there’s no good reason to pick the lesser casino.

There is one exception to my verdict – if you’re looking for Maple Moolah in all its forms, Royal Panda is home to eight variants of this seven-figure game.
