Introduction

Leo Vegas is the mobile-friendly brainchild of Gustaf Hagman and Robin Ramm-Ericson which launched in 2012.  Over the past thirteen years, Leo Vegas has skyrocketed to mainstream popularity in multiple countries. Ontario is the latest destination on their itinerary – they opened shop here in 2022.

Leo Vegas serves doubly as an online casino and sportsbook, but I wanted to see if this casino lives up to the hype. I created a new account and spent a full week testing their platform. I made deposits, played real money games, requested withdrawals, and claimed perks.

I’m going to dive deeper into my experience with Leo Vegas by discussing their most compelling features and pointing out where they could make improvements as an impartial reviewer. I’ll also explain how to sign up with the casino. Let’s begin with a list of important facts about Leo Vegas.

Facts You Should Know About Leo Vegas

Leo Vegas guarantees a diverse gaming and sports betting experience. As I tested slots, tables and live dealer tables at Leo Vegas, I took note of the most important information I came across.

  • Separate live casino package

  • 340 live tables, exclusives and game shows

  • 1,775 classic slots + 63 progressive jackpots

  • Top progressive jackpot prizes reach $2 million

  • Download their mobile app for iOS and Android

Advantages
  • Extensive game selection
  • Smooth mobile experience
  • Dedicated live casino section
Disadvantages
  • Slow withdrawal processing
  • Short benefits expiration
  • Limited sorting options

How Does This Casino Stand Out From Competitors?

Leo Vegas is one of the better casino options for Ontario players, but I’ve been using two other casinos recently and I wanted to compare all three platforms from an unbiased standpoint. I’ve been playing at 888casino and Betano recently.

Leo Vegas is home to 1,775+ online slots, 340+ live games, and a full-on sports betting library. Betano features a similarly stacked library with a grand total of 2,500+ games and competitive betting lines for many popular sports categories. 888casino clocks in with a respectable 2,000+ games, a dedicated sports betting website, and a dedicated online poker platform.

All three platforms feature downloadable apps for iOS and Android devices, and I had a similarly excellent gaming experience at each casino. Leo Vegas stands out from their competition with a whopping 340 live dealer games. All the live games I tested worked flawlessly on my iPhone 13.

My Experience With LeoVegas

LeoVegas makes use of neatly labeled categories, squared-off icons, and a self-explanatory UI to condense more than 2,000 games and sports betting options into one website. When I logged into my account, I was directed to their “Casino” page by default.

Their categories are listed in the top menu. You can sort games by popularity, recency, and category to switch between classic slots, progressive jackpots, and virtual tables. Their live casino selection is so big that it’s earned a separate heading on the website, rather than just a subsection of the gaming menu. You can find it right underneath the lion logo.

I like that Leo Vegas offers game suggestions when you click the search bar. I was able to see their 5 most popular slots front-and-center as I looked for titles by name and software provider.

You can also click the menu button at the top-left corner of your screen to sort between casino games, live casino games, and sports betting odds. The sidebar gives you access to the latest perks, and it was easy to get in touch with a live chat agent by clicking the “Support” tab.

Step By Step Guide to Getting Started

I’ve tested my fair share of casinos in Ontario, and LeoVegas definitely has one of the simplest sign-up procedures I’ve been through so far. I was able to create my new account in less than a minute. I clicked the profile button next to “Log In” to start their registration process.

I was asked to provide the following information before I could make deposits and play games:

  • Email Address

  • Password

  • First and Last Name

  • Date of Birth (YYYY-MM-DD)

  • Mobile Phone Number

  • Residential Address

  • Occupational Industry

  • Deposit and Loss Limits

I received an email stating that I was all ready to play, so I don’t have any complaints about their KYC. I ticked the box to agree to Leo Vegas’ General Terms before I could finalize my account.

Before clicking “Sign Up,” I ticked the second checkbox to confirm that I was of legal age (19+) to play online casino games in Ontario. In my experience, beginners won’t have any issue with getting started.

Mobile vs Desktop Experience

I found a downloadable app for Leo Vegas via the App Store on my iPhone 13, so I downloaded it to my device and signed into my account. I was happy to find the same games on desktop and mobile. I didn’t experience any lag or buffering while playing live dealer table games on the app.

Like many casinos in Ontario, Leo Vegas provides a smooth transition between playing desktop and mobile games by incorporating the same user interface on both fronts. The only difference I could spot was menu positioning. On mobile, their categories stay at the bottom of your screen.

Casino Reviews - Unique Features and Facts

We only review casinos that have something special in store for new sign-ups, and Leo Vegas is no exception to our team’s golden rule. They stand out from competing platforms with a massive selection of live dealer games, two separate welcome offers, and their own sports betting library.

They’ve also won various casino awards from EGR and the International Gaming Awards (IGA) for three years in a row. They were crowned mobile operator of the year by the IGA in 2023 and they won the 2024 Global Gaming Awards. Notably, they accept new players from 10 countries.

They host 340 live dealer versions of blackjack, baccarat, roulette, poker, cards and TV-inspired game shows. I was more than satisfied with the quality of my cam feed and the competency of each dealer I saw. You can also claim a live dealer benefit. Not many casinos offer a dedicated live benefits so I have to give them props.

Games on Leo Vegas

Game Quality and Variety

I didn’t get the chance to fully review Leo Vegas’ sports betting library, but a quick glance at their collection reveals odds for six mainstream categories. When you’re not busy betting on bowling, boxing, basketball, baseball, cricket and Australian Rules, you can play 1,775+ slots and 340 live games.

From VIP lounges and high-limit progressives to low-stakes slots and exclusive Leo Vegas table games, I was floored by the versatility and sheer quantity of their collection. They work with 18+ software providers in total, but the vast majority of their games are provided by Pragmatic Play.

Game Variety and Layout

Leo Vegas’ gigantic game collection breaks down over 1,775+ classic slots, 100 Megaways, 63 progressive jackpots, 23 table games, 68 game shows, and 340 live casino games. If you’re worried about becoming overwhelmed as you attempt to find new titles, I’m happy to say that Leo Vegas makes it easy to quickly view your preferred categories by using the top menus.

If you have a specific title or game provider in mind, use the search bar to look for similar titles.

Players who don’t feel like clicking around Leo Vegas’ website can scroll down the home page to view all their popular categories. You’ll see their most-played titles, their “Game of the Week” and their newest games in separate rows. They even have a Game Spotlight that suggests a random slot from their collection.

I like that Leo Vegas shows you the number of matching games available in parentheses next to each category. However, I think they should give players the option to select games from a list of current software providers. This would make it a lot easier to find titles from specific companies.

Slot Machine Selection

Leo Vegas has 1,775+ traditional slots and 63+ progressive jackpots with top prizes in excess of $2 million. Amazing Link Zeus and Eggsponential are my two favorite classics, but it was hard to neglect a chance to win seven figures as I spun 5 variants of the record-breaking Maple Moolah

Given that I’m still authoring casino reviews, it’s safe to say that I didn’t land the largest prize on their site. However, I did have fun browsing themes ranging from Candy Crush and mythology to fishing and swashbuckling on Dead Man’s Trail. I delivered Xmas cheer on Fat Santa, gathered my herd on Goat Getter, took a tropical vacation on Safari Sun, and ran a heist on Money Train

Unfortunately, there’s no way to sort their slots by theme. I had to manually scroll through ten or so pages of slot games to fully appreciate the diversity of their collection.

Table Games

In my personal opinion, Leo Vegas has so many live games that their virtual table games are a benefit rather than a necessity. Nonetheless, they feature two variants of blackjack and roulette produced in-house. The remainder of the 23+ games in the Table Games section are actually live tables hosted by Evolution Gaming.

I found it a bit confusing that they put the live tables in this section, especially when they have a whole other section of the website designed exclusively for the live casino.

Still, I happen to be a personal fan of Lightning Roulette, which features a top win multiplier of 500x, so I was happy to see it here. I also saw 3-card Brag, European Blackjack, Dragon Tiger Baccarat, Golden Wealth Baccarat, European Football Roulette, and Sweep & Win Roulette

Football Studio, Dream Catcher, Mega Ball 100x, and Mount Cash put the finishing touches on their library in this section.

Live Dealer

Aside from their library of high-limit progressives, Leo Vegas’ best selling point is arguably their live casino. I counted a grand total of 340 live games from Evolution Gaming, Playtech, On Air, Pragmatic Play, and Leo Vegas. I saw 22+ exclusive live dealer blackjack and roulette games.

Categorically speaking, they have 82 roulette games, 69 blackjack tables, 68 game shows, 41 baccarat variants, 12 poker games, 20 VIP tables, 28 card games, and 20 miscellaneous titles. There’s more than enough variety for even the most seasoned casino enthusiast at Leo Vegas.

I was impressed with the level of functionality afforded to me by each live game I tested. I was able to chat with other players, individually message the dealer in charge, and switch the video feed angle to give me the best possible view of their brick-and-mortar equipment.

Leo Vegas hosts Big Bass Crash from Pragmatic Play and Cash or Crash Live from Evolution. I haven’t seen the live dealer version of Cash or Crash at many competing sites, but it was fun to play. I watched the multiplier climb and I jumped ship early as I waited for each round to “crash.”

Unfortunately, there’s no way to sort through live games according to their respective minimum betting limits, which makes navigation a little more tricky than it needs to be. If they added a filter to accommodate various budgets, it would be easier to locate suitable tables.

Payment Methods

Leo Vegas has the basics covered with their banking menu, but they could afford to accept more e-wallets. I’m discussing how each of their accepted deposit and payout methods work below.

  • VISA/MasterCard: Leo Vegas accepts basic VISA and MasterCard deposits. If you’ve ever bought something online, you already understand how to fill in your card number. Then, enter the amount you’d like to deposit before confirming your residential address.

  • Interac: Interac is linked directly to your bank account, allowing for instant deposits and 24-hour payouts. To begin, select your financial institution on the payment screen. Then, log in with your existing credentials to fund your casino account or request withdrawals.

  • Apple Pay: Apple Pay is exclusively available through the Leo Vegas mobile app. This popular e-wallet is only available to make deposits at the moment. If you already added your bank card information to Apple Pay, you can fund your account with a single click.

  • Bank Transfer: You can use a traditional bank transfer to make deposits and receive payouts at Leo Vegas. You’ll need to insert your routing and account numbers on the appropriate screen, choose how much money you’d like to transfer, and click Submit.

  • MuchBetter: MuchBetter is a Canadian e-wallet service that requires players to send and receive funds manually. It serves as the middleman between your bank and casino accounts, offering another layer of security for your sensitive information in the process.

Personal Experience

I went through the deposit and payout processes at Leo Vegas, and I’m recounting my individual experiences on both fronts. I’m also explaining how you can make your first deposit and request withdrawals. I logged in from my desktop and used my VISA to deposit $20. Here’s how I did it.

After opening the Cashier section, I chose the corresponding option from the payment screen. I then entered my card number, 3-digit security code, and full name before I confirmed my billing address. I certified that I owned the account and clicked “Deposit” to finalize my first transaction.

I chose my financial institution from the menu, logged into my bank account, and confirmed the transaction by clicking “Submit.” Unfortunately, I had to wait 5 days before I received my money.

Even though I didn’t have any issue with following their on-screen instructions to make deposits and receive payouts, Leo Vegas’ comparatively slow payout speeds dampened my experience.

Leo Vegas Walkthrough

Over the course of my week-long testing period at Leo Vegas, I compiled notes to create a brief walkthrough of how the platform is laid out. I was able to easily sort through games by category, but it would be nice to see them include a list of software providers somewhere on the website.

Interestingly enough, I saw that Leo Vegas provides a page’s worth of important information at the bottom of each section. I read through their brief live gaming tutorials, evaluated the sports betting guidelines, and brushed up on my history with an overview of online casinos in Canada.

I’m not sure how much value this adds - it feels as if Leo Vegas is trying to boost their SEO or rank more favorably on Google - but at the very least, it doesn’t look to be AI-generated. If you’re looking for travel suggestions, Leo Vegas has a list of Canada’s most popular brick-and-mortar casinos complete with a synopsis of what each venue has to offer.

At the very bottom of the page, you’ll see links to their Help Centre and email contact form. You can access their General Terms & Conditions, Cookies Policy, Privacy Policy and LeoSafePlay from the site’s footer. I also saw links to their Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube

LeoSafePlay is the official name of this casino’s responsible gambling department. I saw that I could take a self-assessment to determine whether or not my relationship with online gambling was problematic. I was asked to set deposit limits and loss limits before I made a new account.

Leo Vegas also sends out Activity Reminders that show you how long you’ve been gaming and how much you’ve spent already. Lastly, you can “pause” your account directly on the website or get in touch with a support agent. They claim their staff are trained to handle struggling players.

Their dedicated website goes into more detail regarding their self-limiting tools. They link out to professional resources like Gamblers Anonymous, Net Nanny, BetBlocker and The Samaritans. I’m happy that Leo Vegas puts so much stock into keeping all their players safe and protected.

I Tested Leo Vegas on My Phone: Mostly Smooth Sailing

After I finished exploring their game collection on desktop, I installed Leo Vegas’ mobile app to my iPhone 13. I was able to navigate their UI without a hitch, and you won’t find any noticeable differences between the app and website. All their best games are downsized for smartphones.

However, I had to turn my phone sideways before playing live dealer games on the app. This is not always going to be the case on mobile, especially if you’re rocking a larger phone or even a tablet. Nonetheless, I was happy to see that none of their games suffered a reduction in quality.

Support is accessible through the Leo Vegas app with one click, and I was able to make Apple Pay deposits using Face ID. The same white-and-orange background, square icons and menu options exist on desktop and mobile. I easily adjusted to using the mobile app in a few minutes.

Why Did I Give Leo Vegas A Top Rating?

I gave Leo Vegas a top rating because they passed my tests with flying colors. We care about getting the facts right – that’s why our team never settles for what’s already published online. I made a new account and got my hands dirty at Leo Vegas for a week before I put pen to paper. Below, I’ve explained more about the six primary benchmarks we consider while rating casinos:

  • Security and Fairness: We only review casinos that hold an operating license from the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario. Our team rates various casinos based on their existing reputations, stopping at nothing to find verified player reviews that tell the entire story. If a casino doesn’t look like it’s the real deal, our experts stay away from it.

  • Game Selection: Our team gives casinos a more favorable rating if they host a variety of slots, progressive jackpots, table games, live games, originals, exclusives, and specialty titles. Beyond the classics, we look for casinos that bring something new to the table and maintain close partnerships with big-name software providers like Evolution or Playtech

  • Payout Speed: Our experts spend money to make deposits, explore games and receive withdrawals just like any other player. We consider transaction speeds, processing fees, available deposit and withdrawal options, and general ease-of-use while rating casinos.

  • Customer Support: We get in touch with customer support at every casino we review. If a casino has a dedicated phone line, we give them a higher rating. Our team favors casino sites that offer 24/7 assistance through live chat, email, and popular social media outlets. Beyond scoping out the contact options, we judge our experience with individual agents.

Overall Feeling: Our team hand-picks Ontario casinos to review based on how unique or original they happen to be. We’ve seen our fill of “just-average” platforms. Any casino we review makes the cut because they stand out with exclusive titles and leading per5ks.

Licensing and Regulation at Leo Vegas

Leo Vegas is owned and operated by Tigergen Limited, which is a registered iGaming company under the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO). Their license (OPIG1337312) is listed directly on the site, which is a green flag in my experience. They work with ConnexOntario to promote responsible gambling. You can read more about Ontario’s iGaming laws on their site.

Did I Have Any Problems When Using Leo Vegas?

No, I didn’t have any problems when using Leo Vegas. My main complaint lies with their 7-day expiry period to clear benefits, which I think is much too short to accommodate casual players and beginners. I would like to see Leo Vegas lower their 35x playthrough and extend their perks expiration period to 30 or 60 days. Competing casinos offer longer expiry periods and lesser playthroughs.

Additionally, they should add a 24/7 phone hotline to complement their chat and email support.

Do I Recommend Using Leo Vegas?

In my experience, Leo Vegas checks all the boxes for new sign-ups. While I strongly dislike their seven-day expiry of your first perks, it’s a nice touch that none of your other benefits carry a wagering requirement. They have two sign-up offers for slot enthusiasts and live casino players.

Beyond their stand-out erks, Leo Vegas’ gaming collection accommodates virtually every player’s preferences. I don’t say this lightly – I found 1,775+ slots, 63 jackpots, 340+ live games and numerous specialties to choose from. They also have a full-fledged library of sporting odds.

Lastly, you can put all their games in your pocket when you download their app on iOS/Android.
