Introduction

Casumo is a legal, award-winning casino that’s been operating since 2012 and they launched a website and app for Ontario players in November 2022. Casumo has exquisite benefits, great games, lightning-fast withdrawals, and exciting tournaments to keep their players entertained.

I’m reviewing Casumo by creating a new account, playing games, and testing out various features. I have all the details in my full Casumo review.

Facts You Should Know About Casumo

I had loads of fun playing games at Casumo. During my testing, I uncovered some highlights from the site and I’ve listed them below:

  • 1,052+ slots, tables, and live dealer games

  • Payouts are fee-free and delivered in hours

  • Download the app for iOS & Android devices

  • Accepts MuchBetter and Interac payments

Advantages
  • Fee-free, fast withdrawals
  • User-friendly interface
  • Daily perks and tournaments
Disadvantages
  • Limited payment methods
  • Few table games
  • No table games category

How Does This Casino Stand Out From Competitors?

During my Casumo review, I was happy to see loads of unique games and intuitive features that personalized my experience. Casumo is facing boatloads of competition, and I want to compare them against two of my other favorite Ontario casino sites: Jackpot City and Leo Vegas.

Leo Vegas takes the lead over Casumo when it comes to game variety. Both platforms have 1,500+ and 1,052+ games, respectively. Leo Vegas is the better option for table game lovers – it’s hard to match 77 roulette games, 67 blackjack tables, 40 baccarat games, 62 specialty game shows, 11 poker tables, and 21 exclusive tables. Still, Casumo definitely has my favorite software and overall user experience, with Leo Vegas feeling kind of clunky and dull in comparison.

My Experience With Casumo

Casumo benefits from a beginner-friendly interface, intuitive search filters, and self-explanatory navigation features. They keep things simple, but scrolling through their site feels crisp with the white-on-purple color scheme allowing games and menu icons to really pop out from the screen. I like how everything is organized efficiently on their main screen. I saw their most popular slots, newest releases, Megaways reels, and a list of software providers at a glance.

Step By Step Guide to Getting Started

It’s easy to get started with Casumo – first up, confirm that you’re in Ontario by giving the casino permission to verify your location when prompted.

After clicking “Sign Up” in the top-right corner of my screen, I entered my email address and set a new password on the next screen. I verified my mobile phone number and I had to provide a list of personal details, and I’m going to list them below so you know what to expect beforehand.

  • Username

  • Password

  • Email address

  • Cell phone number

  • Currency

  • Language

  • Name

  • Date of Birth

Ontario casinos legally require their players to provide their home address and employment information. Casumo needs to verify this information before you can start playing games. For reference, it took one of their agents just shy of 24 hours to confirm my account information.

Before finalizing my account, I had to check a few boxes confirming that I was at least 19 years old and that I understood Casumo’s Terms & Conditions. You’re taken through four simple steps to create a new account, so even beginners shouldn’t have any trouble figuring things out here.

Mobile vs Desktop Experience

Any worthwhile online casino in Ontario has a downloadable app for iOS and Android devices. I visited the App Store on my iPhone 13 to install the Casumo app, but you’ll also find it listed on Google Play. Their app effortlessly downsizes thousands of slots, tables, and live games to fit in your front pocket. I didn’t notice any freeze-ups or lag. Their games and settings loaded quickly.

Everything looks much the same on desktop and mobile, and I enjoyed a similar experience on both fronts. Casumo’s comprehensive casino app lets you take the fun wherever life takes you.

Casino Reviews - Unique Features and Facts

Casumo is far from the only reputable online casino marketing their services to Ontario players, but I like to find platforms that put a unique spin on your typical gaming experience. Casumo is adept at standing out from the crowd with high-limit tournaments, daily and VIP benefits, and exciting Reel Races on popular games every single day.

I like Casumo’s “Valuables” program. You’ll start leveling up the ranks with your first real money wager, and special benefits (valuables) automatically appear in your account once you’ve played enough.

Before I dive deeper into Casumo’s jam-packed gaming library, I want to acknowledge their massive collection of 39+ live dealer tables.

I got lost in the midst of playing baccarat, blackjack, Sticky Bandits Roulette Live, and the game show Mega Wheel. I felt like I was standing inside the casino, which speaks volumes about the immersive nature of their live casino games.

Games on Casumo

Game Quality and Variety

Casumo’s live dealer studio is one of their best features, but they have something for everyone. I came away extremely impressed with Casumo’s game collection. 1,000 slots accompany 13+ virtual tables and 39+ live dealer titles. The only items they’re missing are bingo and specialties, but casino players who love the classics will enjoy hours upon hours of top-notch entertainment.

Game Variety and Layout

The menu is split into five sections outlining their slots, live games, benefits, Hall of Fame leaderboards, and Reel Races. Clicking on the left-most magnifying glass icon pulls up their search bar, underneath which you’ll see tens of their most searched games lined up in a row.

When you click on the “Slots” icon, you’re brought to a screen with several subcategories for your convenience. I saw their Games of the Week front-and-center with a purple background, and directly underneath those I saw their most popular reels. The same applies when you tap the Live button in the top menu – you’ll see separate categories for blackjack, roulette, game shows, baccarat, poker, and live lobbies.

Casumo works with 21+ big-name software providers to power their game collection. Their most notable slots are from Pragmatic Play, Playtech, Hacksaw Gaming, Play’n’Go and Microgaming. Evolution Gaming and Relax Gaming handle the bulk of Casumo’s live casino and table games.

Casumo’s search bar and subcategories make it easy to find specific games from each provider, but I would like to see them introduce a menu icon for virtual table games. They have a Live tab. As of right now, the only way to see virtual table games is by scrolling down their home screen.

Slot Machine Selection

I came across more than 1,000 slots during my Casumo review, and I’m happy to report that this casino adds new games to their library every week. They host all the titles you’d expect to find at a Canadian online casino with many familiar slots from NetEnt, Playson, and Pragmatic Play.

Starburst, Book of Dead, Wolf Gold, Bigger Bass Bonanza, Big Bass Hold & Spinner, and Gates of Olympus 1000 are just a few of the most recognizable games on the site. I like how deep they go with various immersive themes ranging from Greek mythology to exploring ancient Egypt and exploring the deep, blue sea. Slots loaded quickly and ran smoothly with no lag. Playing slots on my iPhone 13 was just as enjoyable, entertaining, and immersive as playing them on my laptop.

Table Games

Casumo has 13+ virtual table games on tap, but they largely cater to blackjack players. I found six blackjack games, three roulette wheels, and four poker options. Multihand blackjack puts an exciting twist on the classic card game, as does Vegas Strip Blackjack and Blackjack Neo.

Roulette players are limited to enjoying European Roulette Pro, Vikings Multifire Roulette, and Roulette Nouveau. I’d like to see them add American and French roulette wheels to the library.

Video poker enthusiasts have a spread of Texas Hold’em Plus, Let it Ride, Casino Hold’em, and Three Card Poker at their fingertips. They should consider adding craps, keno, dice, Teen Patti, and some other specialties for a change of pace.

Live Dealer

Casumo’s live dealer casino is arguably their biggest selling point for good reason. They feature a grand total of 39+ live games from Evolution Gaming, Pragmatic Play, and Playtech. You’ll see their most popular live games outlined at the very top of your screen, and titles are organized by category as you scroll.

Their live games go the extra mile to make you feel like you’re in the casino. You’ll play against other people in real-time. Watch the video feed to see your dealer shuffling cards and spinning the roulette wheel. Casumo mimics the sort of gaming experience I’d expect from an in-person venue. That’s why I’d wholeheartedly recommend them to casual and seasoned players alike.

I came across 3 live poker tables, 12 live baccarat tables, 7 live game shows, 7 blackjack tables and 13 live roulette wheels. They don’t host any craps games or unique table games to mention, but they have the basics down pat. My favorite titles were Sticky Bandits Roulette Live, Roulette Nouveau, Grand Blackjack, Mega Wheel, Money Drop, and Deal or No Deal: The Big Draw.

As I played each game, I took note of how quickly each round went by and paid attention to the mannerisms of the dealers I came in contact with. From the realistic sounds of chips and cards shuffling around the table to how I felt at the onset of each round, I almost forgot that I wasn’t in the Casino Niagara. The video feed was crisp and lag-free, making for a flawless experience.

Payment Methods

Casumo falls in line with other regulated Ontario casinos by accepting four secure and efficient payment methods for new players. Below, I’ve explained their significance and the advantages of using each option.

  • Bank Cards (VISA & MasterCard): You can easily make payments with your debit or credit card by entering your card number, billing address, and security code (CVV). It’s just like buying something from Shopify or any other online storefront with no surprises.

  • Interac e-Transfer: You can pair Interac with your bank account to quickly deposit and withdraw cash. Interac facilitates easy and direct payments between your bank and Casumo.

  • MuchBetter: MuchBetter is an ewallet that can be used in place of debit, credit, or Interac. However, you’ll need to maintain your MuchBetter account separately. This involves going back and adding funds from your bank to MuchBetter before making a deposit with Casumo. It’s provides an extra layer of security, but requires some extra effort

  • Apple Pay: This payment method is available exclusively on the Casumo mobile app. If you don’t want to enter your card details, use Apple Pay to biometrically authenticate the deposits you make with a fingerprint or facial scan. It also takes all of 5 seconds to finish.

I’d like to see Casumo accept more popular ewallets and digital payment methods, like PaySafeCard and Flexepin. Thankfully, they don’t charge any fees on either side of the transaction. However, your credit card processor may impose fees depending on your preferred deposit method. Payouts are processed in hours.

I have no complaints about their flexible transaction limits, which cater to beginners and high rollers alike.

Personal Experience

I wanted to go through Casumo’s banking process for myself so I could explain how it works. I decided to use my VISA debit card to fund my new account for the first time. I clicked the gold coins icon, clicked “Deposit,” and selected VISA from the drop-down list of payment methods.

I clicked the Select A Valuable button and ticked the benefit before clicking “Continue to Deposit.” This is how you opt into their perk.

I then had to declare ownership of my account, which is legally required by Ontario casinos.

I saw that I could use buttons to automatically deposit $25, $50, or $100 using my debit card. I made the minimum deposit of $10 by typing this amount into the empty balance bar, entering my card number, filling out the expiration in MM-YY format, and entering my CVV on the back.

I then clicked “Deposit” once again to confirm the transaction. The money reached my account instantly, and my benefit was credited automatically. Once I’d gotten a few wins under my belt, I tested Casumo's withdrawal process. Again, I had to verify that I was the owner of the account.

Once I’d done this, I selected MuchBetter from the list of withdrawal methods on the drop-down menu. After entering my login details, I withdrew the minimum of $20 to my MuchBetter ewallet.

In the 30 seconds it took me to open my phone and check MuchBetter, I saw that my winnings had already been delivered. I then sent my winnings to my bank account, which took 24 hours.

Interac payments are delivered to your bank balance in 24 hours or less, but bank payments can take up to 5 days for processing and delivery.

Casumo Walkthrough

I spent a full week testing Casumo. Each day, I was able to take advantage of the benefits by visiting the “Promotions” page, clicking the corresponding perk, and opting in from there. The casino layout feels minimalist but sleek, and it’s clear that the developers made all their website space count for something. When you first log in, you’ll see all the games Casumo recommends for you based on your prior history. This is a lovely feature if you’re willing to try something new!

The top menu proved essential as I sorted through Casumo’s jam-packed library, but they don’t have a tab that brings you to their virtual table games. Instead, you’re limited to exploring slots, live games, Reel Races, Casumo’s Hall of Fame Leaderboards. Directly above this menu bar, you can see your account balance and access your profile menu.

Clicking on “More” at the top-right corner reveals options for deposits, buttons linking directly to Casumo’s live chat box and email hotline, and self-serve responsible gaming tools at a glance. You can set spending limits on your own, so there’s no need to wait around for a support agent.

The home screen has all the remaining game categories on the site. Scrolling down past their recommended games, you’ll see their newest releases, top-rated reels, Drops and Wins slots, virtual table games, and all the software companies Casumo works with to power their library.

Clicking each software provider icon reveals all the games they bring to the table at Casumo.

I was pleased with the experience I had on their desktop website, and the only suggestion I’d make is adding a Dark/Light mode that goes easy on the eyes like Jackpot City.

I Tested Casumo on My Phone: Mostly Smooth Sailing

You can download the Casumo app on iOS and Android devices via the App Store and Google Play Store. I’m a personal Tim Cook fanboy, so I installed Casumo on my iPhone 13. The user experience on mobile and desktop is practically identical, so they get two thumbs up from me.

The first thing I noticed was how quickly all the games and settings loaded as I tapped around. Navigating their app felt fluid and smooth, and the UI is naturally optimized for smaller screens.

Casumo’s app downsizes all their games with no decrease in quality. It’s easy to navigate their app using the bottom menu icons and the game category buttons at the top of your screen. It’s also easy to access their live chat feature in the app. Just click on “More” and then “Live Chat.”

Players can make deposits and receive payouts with one tap by opening up the cashier. Their app includes support for Apple Pay, which further simplifies the process of depositing funds if you don’t feel like typing out your card information.

My favorite part of using the Casumo app was undoubtedly having the ability to play entertaining casino games as I went about my day. Even if you’re busy it’s not hard to squeeze in a few bets.

Why Did I Give Casumo A Top Rating?

Our writers believe in the power of personal experience, and that’s why we base all our opinions on independent research. We create accounts, play games, opt into perks one-by-one and withdraw funds. Below, I listed the most important factors that we consider before putting pen to paper:

  • Security and Fairness: We only endorse licensed, regulated, fair, and trusted casinos in Ontario. Every site we review holds a license from the Ontario Gaming Commission and meets all the legal stipulations they set forth, such as confirming that every player is “Fit To Play” before allowing them to proceed. We also scour third-party review sites like Ask Gamblers, Trustpilot, and Reddit to get an inside look at what actual players have to say.

  • Game Selection: Our team spends hours playing slots, table games, and live games to get a feel for the controls, how quickly they load, whether they’re prone to lag, and how detailed the graphics are. We hand out extra points to casinos that prioritize originality in their collections with exclusive titles and an enormous variety of high-quality games.

  • Payout Speed: We make deposits and request withdrawals at every casino we review. We document factors like transaction speed, the presence or absence of various fees, and the variety of allowable payment options. Our team prioritizes casinos that deliver fee-free withdrawals, and we look for casinos that implement flexible transaction limits.

  • Customer Support: We get in touch with customer support using live chat, email, social media, and phone. Our team doesn’t rest until we get a real person on the other end of the line, and we hand out ratings based on the professionality and speed of responses. We also read through the FAQ or Help Center to find helpful, beginner-friendly details.

Overall Feeling: Our team wants to be excited before we start testing a casino, and we find platforms that give us a reason to look forward to getting started. Originality, unique games, intuitive features, and loyalty perks are just some of the factors we focus on as we examine every hidden nook and cranny of the site in question for your convenience.

Licensing and Regulation at Casumo

Casumo is owned and operated by Pret Play Limited, which holds a license to operate from the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) under regulatory number OPIG1239089.

Because Casumo is fully licensed and regulated, they can’t offer rigged games, steal deposits, or refuse to process withdrawals: the trifecta of issues plaguing players who made the mistake of signing up with an offshore casino.

Casumo is also required to provide responsible gaming tools and make you confirm that you’re “Fit to Play” before logging into your account for a session. To learn more about how Ontario casinos prioritize your safety and well-being, visit the Ontario Gaming Commission website.

Did I Have Any Problems When Using Casumo?

I didn’t have any major problems while using Casumo, although I do have a few recommendations for ways they could improve down the line. While they could afford to add a few more table games and specialties to their collection, navigating their website and app was nothing short of pleasant. Their interface blends a simplistic user layout with crisp animations and large buttons, making Casumo an ideal choice for beginners and casual players who want to dip their toes in.

The range of payment methods is definitely an area for improvement, with only four real options available. I’d like to see some kind of prepaid card - which is a no brainer in my opinion - and some more e-wallet options added.

Do I Recommend Using Casumo?

Yes, I’d eagerly recommend signing up and playing games with Casumo. I didn’t encounter too many drawbacks during my week-long testing period, but the lack of a category for table games in the top menu can get annoying. I’d also like to see them accept a few more payment methods.

On the bright side, Casumo’s live dealer studio works flawlessly on desktop and mobile. I had loads of fun with 39 roulette wheels, blackjack games, baccarat tables, and live game shows to keep me busy. Their daily perks and frequent tourneys added to the overall user experience.

Lastly, fee-free and instant withdrawals through MuchBetter set Casumo apart from the pack. It couldn’t be much easier to make deposits and receive payouts, and their banking menu covers the basics with support for Interac and bank cards. Sign up with Casumo by clicking on this link.
