Introduction

Royal Vegas is a fully regulated online casino with its roots in the UK since 2001. In June 2022, they obtained licensing from the Ontario Gaming Commission and opened their doors to CA players. They have since built a diehard fan base on the back of slots with major payout potential, tons of classic tables, and live games that deliver a realistic experience.

I’m reviewing Royal Vegas by signing up, putting their game collection to the test, and opting in with every promotion I can find. I’m discussing the good, the bad, and the ugly in my full Royal Vegas review – let’s get started.

Facts You Should Know About Royal Vegas

Royal Vegas’ game collection proved to be wildly entertaining, and I uncovered some highlights from this casino during the week I spent testing it out. Here’s what you need to know right now.

  • 300+ slots, 66 tables and 69 live games

  • Accepts Interac, MuchBetter and Google Pay

  • Downloadable app for iOS/Android devices

  • Zero fees on either side of transactions

Pros and Cons

Advantages
  • Extensive live casino options
  • User-friendly mobile app
  • No transaction fees
Disadvantages
  • Limited game variety
  • Difficult customer support access
  • High wagering requirements

How Does This Casino Stand Out From Competitors?

During my Royal Vegas review, their live casino selection stood out to me. I was also a huge fan of their mobile app, which effectively downsizes all their best games for a pocket-sized experience. I’m comparing Royal Vegas to Leo Vegas and Casumo to see how it stacks up.

Royal Vegas also falls behind Casumo and Leo Vegas in terms of gaming variety: they have just 435 available titles compared to 1,052+ games at Casumo and Leo Vegas’ massive collection of 1,500 games. On the bright side, Royal Vegas prioritizes quality over quantity with Microgaming, a software company that’s won 60+ iGaming awards, powering the bulk of their slots and tables.

Royal Vegas puts Casumo’s live dealer casino to shame with 69 variants of blackjack, baccarat, roulette, and exclusive game shows.

My Experience With Royal Vegas

Royal Vegas’ interface is incredibly easy to navigate, but I did feel at times it was a little too simplistic. I feel like they could work on making the menu icons look a bit nicer, but I like how everything you need is lined up so that it’s visible at a glance. You can see important message notifications, check the latest promos, top up your balance, or visit the FAQ using the top menu.

Directly underneath a banner containing my personal recommendation of the day and Royal Vegas’ newest game, I saw a row of category icons. This allowed me to sift through slots, tables, jackpots, bingo, arcade-style titles, and live casino games with a single click. I also love the Fire and Ice themed icon buttons.

Step By Step Guide to Getting Started

Royal Vegas’ beginner-friendly registration process starts with one tap. I had to enable location services on Chrome so the website could verify that I was in Ontario when I made an account. I confirmed my location and clicked the blue “Sign Up” button at the corner of my screen to begin.

You’ll need to have information at the ready, and I’m listing these items below for clarity’s sake:

  • Username

  • Password

  • Email Address

  • Mobile Number

  • Language (English or French)

  • Currency

  • Full Name

  • Date of Birth

I had to verify my residential address, occupational industry, and job title as required by Ontario law. Royal Vegas independently verified this information through email, and I was good to go in 24 hours. I then checked a handful of boxes confirming that I accepted Royal Vegas T&C’s and that I was of legal age (19+ in Ontario) to create an account. Then, I clicked “Sign Up” to finish.

The form is very easy to fill out, and it took me less than 5 minutes to complete before I could play games.

Mobile vs Desktop Experience

More often than not, reputable casinos have a downloadable app for smartphones. Royal Vegas is no exception, and I had the pleasure of testing their application on my iPhone 13. I visited the App Store, installed it to my device within seconds, logged in with my account information, and I was off to the races. I’m happy to report that I saw the exact same gaming menu on the app, including all their live games and specialties.

I had no trouble with game loading speed, and navigating their app felt crisp. I like that the app and desktop website share a near-identical user interface geared towards beginners. No matter what device you use to play at Royal Vegas, you’ll have an exciting and hassle-free experience.

Casino Reviews - Unique Features and Facts

Royal Vegas faces tons of competition in the Ontario iGaming space, but they stand out from the pack with a unique focus on generous daily recommendations and games. Unfortunately, I didn’t find any races or slots tournaments during the week I spent playing.

Royal Vegas is a “sister site” to Jackpot City, which is another popular CA casino frequented by Ontario players. In addition to carrying Jackpot City’s stellar reputation with them, Royal Vegas follows the same multi-tiered games structure.

Their loyalty program is another fantastic feature, and you’ll start earning points the minute you make a deposit. I got 2,500 loyalty points right away, which bumped me from Bronze to Silver. I saw five levels (Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, and Privé) with increasingly generous perks. You can also redeem these loyalty points to keep the action going.

Finally, I’d like to comment on Royal Vegas’ live casino section. I had lots of fun playing against real people as I watched professional dealers use physical equipment to direct the action. From live blackjack and roulette to pop-culture game shows and VIP rooms, your options are endless.

Games on Royal Vegas

Game Quality and Variety

The Royal Vegas gaming menu consists of 300+ slots, 67+ progressives, and 66+ virtual table games. The live studio is my standout pick, but the rest of the games are impressive too.

Bingo and arcade-style games offer a nice change of pace from the more classic casino games. I like that Royal Vegas features Aviator, which is a popular crash game that puts you in the pilot’s seat as you fly to ever-increasing wins.

Game Variety and Layout

The game layout is very simple at Royal Vegas – you’ll see a top menu, which splits into eight categories. From left to right, they have a tab for slots, virtual table games, live casino games, arcade games, bingo, and jackpot slots. You can see everything by clicking “All Games,” and the search bar makes it easy to find specific titles by name.

To the right of this menu, you’ll notice fire and ice buttons. This is an easy way to separate two popular themes, and clicking the heart symbol on each game puts it in your “Favorites” tab for later. Clicking “For You” brought me to a screen with several categories going down the page.

I was able to see their New & Exclusive games, all the most popular machines at Royal Vegas, a row of Instant Bingo games, a section for “must-win” progressives, and even a row of games that just paid out big to someone else. Royal Vegas works with Microgaming to host their titles, and you can expect to find tens (if not hundreds) of exclusives created for them alone, not available at any other casino. There are also some classics from other software providers too, including Pragmatic Play.

Slot Machine Selection

During the course of my Royal Vegas review, I counted more than 300+ slots. They also have 67+ progressive jackpot games with a shared top prize breaching seven figures. Microgaming supplies the majority of the software, and is known for their immersive graphics and animations, so you’re in fantastic hands.

From classics like Big Bass Bonanza and exclusive slots like UFC Gold Blitz Extreme to several variants of the record-breaking Mega Moolah jackpot, they have something for everyone. My personal favorite here is the Phantom of the Opera slot, which is a game I hadn’t come across before. Royal Vegas excels in this department by offering diverse games with various sprawling themes.

Table Games

Royal Vegas hosts 66+ virtual table games, putting them head-and-shoulders above competing sites like Casumo. I came across 22 blackjack variants, 34 roulette wheels, a game of Real Sic Bo with Sarati, 3 baccarat tables, and 3 video poker options. Again, they promise tons of variety.

Popular progressive franchises put an original twist on the classics. Playing Immortal Romance roulette for massive prizes was exhilarating, and graphics were top-notch across the board. You also have “Real Baccarat” and “Real Sic Bo.” Both games incorporate footage of real dealers to blur the lines between online and in-person betting.

Live Dealer

Royal Vegas puts a great deal of stock into their live casino, and it’s one of the primary reasons why I chose to review them for this article. In total, they feature 69+ real-time live dealer games. After you click on the tab, you’ll see sub-categories for blackjack, roulette, baccarat, and more.

They spare no expense on the latest camera equipment, and I didn’t experience any lag while streaming the action on desktop or mobile. It’s quite literally the closest you can get to playing the classics from home, and each game I tried had a premium feel to it.

I saw 28 live blackjack tables, 18 variants of roulette, 14 baccarat games, Andar Bahar, Mega Sic-Bo, Live Casino Hold’ Em, and 6 fun-filled game shows that made me feel like I was on TV. On top of the classics and quite a few specialties, they host an “on-air” live slot: 9 Pots of Gold. I’m satisfied with their selection, and I don’t believe they need to make any improvements here.

If you want my opinion, I jumped straight into Sweet Bonanza Candy Land and Mega Wheel. I then had a blast playing Live Clubhouse Roulette and Live Dragon Tiger Baccarat. Lastly, I like how the dealers pace rounds to match the speed you’d be playing at a brick-and-mortar venue. It is attention to detail like that that makes the live tables at Royal Vegas so impressive.

Payment Methods

Royal Vegas goes above and beyond the call of duty to accept eight secure payment methods. Let’s take a closer look at each available payment method and discuss who it’s best suited for:

  • Bank Cards (VISA & MasterCard): Quickly and easily deposit funds with your VISA or MasterCard debit card at Royal Vegas. All you have to do is enter your card details and click “Submit” to top up your casino balance.

  • Interac e-Transfer: Interac is a payment service that connects directly with your bank for easier, safer, and fee-free transactions. It’s used to facilitate both deposits and payouts.

  • MuchBetter: MuchBetter is an e-wallet service and you need to create a separate account before manually transferring funds to and from your casino balance. Once you have the money in MuchBetter, you can send it to your savings account in a separate transaction.

  • PaySafeCard: PaySafeCard is a prepaid bank card that you can use in place of a debit or credit card. It’s designed to add a layer of security between your bank and the casino.

  • Flexepin: You can use Flexepin cash vouchers to deposit funds if you want to keep your banking information and casino-related transactions separate.

  • Google Pay: Google Pay is an ewallet service that uses a digitized copy of your debit or credit card to securely process deposits. It’s also more convenient than typing your card details out. You can biometrically confirm deposits using facial or fingerprint recognition.

  • Apple Pay: Apple Pay is another ewallet service that works exactly like Google Pay, but it’s only available on Apple devices. Google Pay is compatible with Apple and Android.

Royal Vegas doesn’t charge any processing fees, but you may be charged a nominal fee by the payment provider if you use a credit card or Flexepin to make deposits. You can deposit as little as $10 to start, but their $50 minimum withdrawal requirement needs to be lowered in my opinion.

Personal Experience

I took Royal Vegas’ deposit and withdrawal processes for a spin, and I’m discussing how I did it here. I used my VISA card to get started because I was initially testing Royal Vegas on desktop.

I clicked “Bank” and chose “Cards” from the list of payment methods on the next screen. Then, I confirmed that I was the owner of the account by clicking Yes and Continue. This is the standard operating procedure for Ontario casinos required by law. I clicked “Own Amount” and typed in $10 before clicking “Next.”

I entered my card details, expiration date, and CVC before clicking “Deposit” to finalize the transaction. My deposit was available instantly.

It took me a few days to win the $50 minimum required for a withdrawal, but I eventually caught a lucky break playing 9 Masks of Fire. I clicked on “Bank” again, selected “Withdraw” and chose MuchBetter from the list of payout methods on the next screen. I typed in my login credentials to confirm the transaction and got $50 the same day. However, sending it to my bank took another 24 hours.

Royal Vegas Walkthrough

I spent one week putting Royal Vegas through their paces. I like that there’s a shortcut to add Royal Vegas’ website to your desktop screen for easy, one-click access. There’s no option to search for titles by software provider, which I'd like to see added.

Royal Vegas keeps the focus on minimalism and simplicity with a barebones, beginner-friendly user interface on desktop and mobile. The “For You” tab shows you recommended games that you might like based on titles you’ve played already. I found quite a few hidden gems this way!

All the most important controls are listed in neat rows at the top and middle of your screen. The top menu has five tabs for the Cashier, Help Centre, Messages and much that will interest you.

Beneath this, you have 6 categories outlining their slots, tables, live casino, arcade titles, bingo games, and progressive jackpots. Clicking the “Profile” tab at the top-right corner of the screen brings up details regarding your account, loyalty benefits, and their responsible gambling tools.

I enjoyed a fluid and beginner-friendly gaming experience on my computer and smartphone. I don’t have any major suggestions for improvements, but their simplicity can feel a little dull if you have experience with flashier animations and dazzling menu icons at competing online casinos.

I Tested Royal Vegas on My Phone: Mostly Smooth Sailing

I was able to download the Royal Vegas app on my iPhone 13, and there’s a separate app for Android users on the Google Play Store. Even though I wasn’t able to test the Android version of their casino app, the iOS app didn’t disappoint with hundreds of appropriately sized games.

Initially, I noticed how easy, fluid and natural it felt to navigate their app with one hand. I held my phone in portrait mode to play slots. Turning my phone sideways gave me more screen space to enjoy their live dealer collection. I like that all of their desktop games are available on my phone.

This isn’t always a guarantee, but Royal Vegas goes above and beyond with cutting-edge slots and tables everywhere you look. I opened the Cashier by clicking the balance icon at the top of my screen, and I noticed that I could use Apple Pay or Google Pay to make deposits on mobile.

My favorite aspect of the Royal Vegas casino app was almost certainly their flawless live dealer studio. To my surprise, I had just as much fun playing live blackjack on my desktop and mobile.

Why Did I Give Royal Vegas A Top Rating?

Our team believes that social proof and personal experience are the only right ways to test any casino. We’re not satisfied with other people’s opinions: instead, we get our hands dirty by signing up, depositing, playing games with our own money and withdrawing funds. In this section, I’ve discussed the major benchmarks we use while judging ON casinos:

  • Security and Fairness: We exclusively endorse regulated, trustworthy, and long-standing casinos that are licensed by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO). If a platform doesn’t seem like the real deal, we don’t review them because we care about your safety first. In addition to verifying that each licensed casino follows Ontario’s legal guidelines, we look through every corner of the Internet to find out how regular players feel about each site.

  • Game Selection: We spend several hours spinning through slots, exploring live games, taking a seat at the table for blackjack or baccarat, and enjoying exclusive specialties. If a casino has original, never-before-seen games, we give them a higher rating. We also judge the quality of all the titles we test by taking note of how they work, whether they load quickly, and the level of detail inherent in each game’s graphics and animations.

  • Payout Speed: We make real deposits and withdrawals, judge the variety of deposit and payout options available at each casino, and give out higher ratings to casinos that offer a beginner-friendly banking process. We rate casinos based on payment speeds. Lastly, we prioritize casinos that promise no fees and flexible payment minimums for beginners.

  • Customer Support: Our team speaks with real customer support agents via chat, phone, email, and social media (if applicable). We get in touch using every contact method that we can find, and we factor our individual experiences into rating each casino. We like to see fast replies, knowledgeable responses and professional assistance from real people.

Overall Feeling: With so many options at your fingertips, we look for casinos that provide uniquely entertaining features, original titles, and little quirks that make the UI a pleasure to use. We go deep to test, examine, and discuss each aspect of our casino experience.

Licensing and Regulation at Royal Vegas

Royal Vegas is owned and operated by Cadtree Limited, which holds a license from the Ontario Gaming Commission. Their licensing number is OPIG1237900. It was issued on June 22, 2022. Royal Vegas also has a positive track record with nearly a quarter-century of continued success underneath their belt: before opening up shop in Ontario, they launched in the UK back in 2001.

Royal Vegas has an excellent reputation, and their licensing status means that they’re obligated to give you a safe and enjoyable gaming experience. By law, Royal Vegas must send out timely withdrawals and host fair games. These facts aren’t a guarantee if you use an off-shore casino.

Last but not least, Royal Vegas confirms that you’re “Fit to Play” with a checkbox before you can access any of their games after logging in. They also provide responsible gaming tools by giving players the chance to set deposit limits, loss limits, and temporary or permanent self-exclusions.

Visit the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario’s (AGCO) website to discover how Ontario iGaming laws are designed to keep you safe.

Did I Have Any Problems When Using Royal Vegas?

The only real problem I had with Royal Vegas was finding their customer support options. While their Help Centre is in plain view, you have to open the Help Centre, select a category, pick one of the questions (any question is fine), and click “Yes” next to where it says “Do You Need More Help?” After taking these steps, I discovered a link to their live chat and a listed phone number. I also believe their 35x wagering requirements could be lowered.

Do I Recommend Using Royal Vegas?

Yes, I recommend giving Royal Vegas a try for yourself – they’ve earned my endorsement with a massive collection of live games and their excellent compatibility with popular mobile e-wallets.

In terms of improvements: they should make it easier for players to find their live chat feature, phone hotline and email.

Their interface could benefit from a little sprucing up, but the simplicity lends itself to beginners. Royal Vegas excels with a comprehensive downloadable app for iOS and Android.

It’s easy to follow all their instructions when going through important processes, which is a huge upside for players who might not be acquainted with online gambling. Making deposits and initiating payouts can be done with a few taps. Plus, every transaction is fee-free.

FAQ

Why did I choose Royal Vegas over other casinos?

Royal Vegas stands out with frequent recommendation, multi-tiered payment methods, and 69+ live games. I also chose them because they have real customer support agents via chat, phone, email, and social media (if applicable) which are easy to get in contact with.

What surprises did I find as a new player at Royal Vegas?

Royal Vegas’ most welcome surprise was undoubtedly their live casino section was the next big feature that got my attention. I was also surprised by their acceptance of Apple Pay and Google Pay, which I haven’t seen at many legal online casino sites in Ontario.

How quick are withdrawals at Royal Vegas?

You can withdraw funds using an eCheck, MuchBetter, and iDebit at Royal Vegas in Ontario. eChecks are the slowest option of the bunch with an average delivery speed of 72 hours, but MuchBetter slashes that down to 24-48 hours. iDebit withdrawals can also take 48-72 hours.

What must-try games did I enjoy as a first-time visitor at Royal Vegas?

I enjoyed playing 69 live dealer games at Royal Vegas. Their live collection is by far one of the most impressive available at any casino in Ontario. My personal favorites are Mega Wheel and Diamond Rush Roulette, but Card Matchup and Blazing Dragon Tiger came in third and fourth.

How accessible was customer service at Royal Vegas?

Even though Royal Vegas has a live chat feature and phone line, they don’t offer 24/7 support. I had to go to their Help Center, open up a question, and click “Yes” when asked if I needed help. This brought me to a “Contact Us” screen with their live chat feature and phone hotline included.
